One evening Yasmin unfolded her messy past to me. I knew this was a significant moment. We had been friends for many months, but this was the first night she really opened up. She spoke softly over her tears as she told me about broken relationships, multiple marriages, abuse, and another divorce on the way.

“Would you like me to pray to Jesus and offer Him your pain?” I asked. I explained how Jesus died to take our sin as well as our sorrow. She agreed, and we prayed together, offering her pain to Jesus. As we prayed, Yasmin saw a vision of a shepherd and herself as a sheep. She described how the shepherd led her and helped her; she described the peace she felt being with the shepherd.

The divine vision led me to show her Psalm 23. In that moment, the truths I had shared with her from the Bible truly came alive.

Holy Spirit encounters always affirm the truth of the Word of God. I believe that was the night Yasmin truly met Jesus for the first time.

Since then, she has continued her journey of seeking truth and learning to hear the voice of God.

I pray for the many Yasmins in India who need a divine encounter with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God and I pray that as they hear the truth, it will set them free.
