Kyrgyzstan is a mountain paradise surrounded by deserts, and a homeland of nomads whom soviet power never quite tamed. Kyrgyz people are known for their hospitality, readiness to help and they love to celebrate and enjoy the local food. After gaining independence kyrgyz people were looking for their new identity. First, they searched within their own culture, now in great numbers they are turning to Islam. Persecution for believers is on the rise. There are courageous followers of Jesus amongst the Kyrgyz people however numbers are few and Kyrgyz people remain to be an unreached people group.
