The Dry Heart-Soil

There are places in Iran where a fiery wind blows across the land, gathering sand, and piling it against ancient dwellings. The sandy dryness leaves a mark of hopelessness. Years of drought have widened the crisis for water. Hopeless cries are carried on the wind throughout old Persia.

The hearts of the Iranian people are dry spiritually. The constant oppression from authorities has left its mark of hopelessness and caused a widening spiritual thirst.

“…You let them drink from Your refreshing stream, for with You is life’s fountain. In Your light, we will see light.” Psalm 36:8-9

An Iranian’s Story …

Her parents abandoned her when she was a young girl. Her husband abandoned her to seek his own pleasures. Now all she had left was a wounded heart and a desperate thirst for love. Sobs broke from her lips as she came out of the waters of baptism. This was the love she had longed for. This was the true hope her thirsty heart was waiting for. Jesus. Her Jesus.
